The rules:(and fine print)

1. In the span of 24 hours, you are only allowed to drink water. Keep hydrated!

2. At 12 hours, or wherever you feel that middle peak point, record yourself expressing how you feel so far in a short Instagram video and share with the hashtag #endhunger2017.

​

3. Don't forget that if you cannot last the full 24 hours, do not push yourself! What matters is that you tried and experienced part of what people living in hunger endure--that's the point of the challenge! So please don't hurt yourself by trying to last the full 24 hours.

4. If you are under the age of 12, elderly, pregnant, nursing, or have medical conditions or eating disorders, please do not participate in the challenge. Your health is more important!

5. After the challenge, eat easily digestible foods such as pasta and rice. Don't go to anything too acidic. â€‹

6. Once your post is shared with the hashtag #endhunger2017, we reserve the right to post it and share on our social medias (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, our website). 

​

7. Spread the challenge! Tell your friends, family, coworkers and even the cute guy in class! 

THE PURPOSE:

This challenge is a space where you can participate in the fight against hunger. By spreading awareness through fasting for 24 hours and then sharing your experience, it demonstrates how difficult it is to withstand the pains of hunger and allows the reality of this issue to really come to light. This controlled challenge is a minute scale of what so many have to actually endure each day. 

what you do:

Fast for 24 hours. No food, no coffee, nothing.

At the end of however long you last, post the number of hours and a brief explanation of your experience with hunger on Instagram with the hashtag #endhunger2017. We'll post your results on our page!
